Confined Space Training for Entrants, Supervisors, & Attendants

Online Confined Space Training Courses for OSHA 1910.146 Permit-required Confined Space Standard – The Online OSHA Confined Space Entry Training Courses for General Industry offered on our website are the training courses you need if you work in or around confined spaces at general industry work sites. This includes training for entrants, entry supervisors, attendants, and rescue personnel. We even offer a hazard awareness course for those workers who are not specifically designated to work in, or assist with, confined space entry operations. Of course, these courses are also ideal for safety personnel and other managers whose employees work in or near permit-required confined spaces. Students can print their confined space certification of training upon completion of their course.

The online confined space courses we offer for entry supervisors, entrants, and attendants are NOT like those short, cheap “awareness-level” training courses that are offered on other training providers’ websites. Ours are comprehensive confined space entry training courses that will take a total of six to eight hours to complete. Even our shorter “How to Identify Permit Required Confined Spaces” course is 2.5 hours long. However, you do not have to complete your online training course of choice all at one sitting; students have the option of logging in and out of their course whenever it is convenient to train. Also, there are no prerequisites required to take any of our online confined space training courses.

NOTE: The confined space training courses we offer are all-inclusive, meaning there is no need to take all of them; just register for the one you need. For example, if you simply want to know if there any permit-required confined spaces at your work site, take the “How to Identify Permit Required Confined Spaces at General Industry Work Sites” course. Entrants and attendants for confined spaces at general industry work sites would only need to take the “Entrants and Attendants” course needed for entering a confined space or serving as the attendant during entry operation. And entry supervisors overseeing entry operations at the work site would only need to take the more comprehensive “Entry Supervisor” course, which covers everything in the other courses plus more, thereby qualifying you to act as a confined space entrant or attendant in addition to being an entry supervisor. Of course, any worker who is not authorized to enter or assist with entry operations should take our free confined space awareness training course for non-authorized employees.

Each online confined spaces in general industry course (with the exception of the free hazard awareness course, comes with a free PDF study guide you can print for use (optional). And the confined space entry supervisor class both come with a free template (Word document) for a written confined space entry program, complete with entry permits, that you can customize for your use.

Who Should Take an Online Confined Space Entry Training Course for General Industry?

The OSHA permit-required confined space entry standards found at OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146(g) requires all supervisors, entrants, attendants, rescue personnel, and other workers involved with all phases of entry into permit-required confined spaces receive training. Those employees must also receive additional training or instruction from their employer, where needed, to cover their organization’s site-specific confined space entry policies and procedures, as well as any instruction that may be needed on the tools and equipment used during confined space entry work conducted at their work site. And any worker who is not authorized to enter or assist with confined space entry operations must be made aware of the hazards of permit spaces, and why staying out of permit spaces is so crucial to their own safety.

How the Online Confined Spaces in General Industry Training Courses Works

These online confined space training courses are designed to be taken by one trainee. Trainees will be able to begin training within a matter of minutes after they are registered for their online confined space training course. To make sure the trainee is at the computer throughout the course, the student is prompted to click an arrow to advance through the course each time a section is completed. The course is also narrated, so the student must use a computer equipped with speakers or they must plug in headphones or ear-buds so they can hear the narration.

One of the major benefits of taking our online confined space training courses is the trainee may log out of their course at any time during their training session, and can log back in when it is convenient to resume their course where they left off, even from a different computer or tablet. Students are allotted up to six full months to complete their course, but they can certainly complete it much quicker (even in a single day) since the course is available for them to take 24/7/365.
