Purpose of the OSHA 30-hour Construction Class
The OSHA 30 hour training course for construction standards is designed to help foremen, supervisors, superintendents, competent persons, safety staff, safety committee members, and others with responsibility for workplace safety get up to speed on the basic OSHA health and safety regulations affecting construction workplaces. The OSHA 30 hour construction training course also provides students with an overview of how the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) functions. There are no prerequisites required to take the OSHA 30-hour construction course.
Make Sure Your OSHA 30-hour Construction Trainer is OSHA Authorized
There is no official certification required to teach most OSHA training classes. However, you must make certain that on site OSHA 30-hour general construction industry training classes are conducted by a trainer who is officially authorized to conduct this OSHA course. The trainer must first complete a series of OSHA trainer classes provided by one of the OSHA Education centers located around the country. You can confirm their status as a currently authorized OSHA Outreach trainer by asking to look at their credentials proving they completed the following trainer courses.
Construction industry trainers must successfully complete the OSHA 510 course, followed by the OSHA 500 course. This qualifies the trainer to conduct OSHA 30-hour construction training. To maintain their status as an authorized OSHA 30-hour Outreach trainer for construction, they must complete the OSHA 502 trainer update course every four years.
Be assured that our trainers who conduct on-site 30-hour OSHA construction training classes are authorized OSHA Outreach trainers. We will conduct an OSHA 30 hour construction training class at your site for a group of eight or more students. Training is available in either English or in Spanish. The OSHA 30 hour training course for construction is based on the Federal OSHA 1926 construction regulations. We also address state-specific OSHA requirements for trainees, where applicable. This OSHA 30 training course is intended for operations such as demolition jobs, new construction projects, and major renovation work.
30-hour OSHA Construction Training Class Overview
The OSHA 30 hour training course in construction standards was created by OSHA, who also authorizes OSHA Outreach trainers like us to conduct this 30-hour construction training class for a group of trainees. The OSHA 30-training courses for construction is presented in a classroom setting (usually spread over four consecutive days). Trainees receive several handouts as part of their training.
OSHA 30 Certification
When a student successfully completes the OSHA 30 hour construction training course, they will receive the official US DOL / OSHA 30 hour construction course wallet card, as well as a personalized certificate of training upon successful completion of the course (Note: OSHA policy states that it is not proper to refer to their DOL / OSHA card as a “OSHA 30 certification”, as they do not “certify” anyone). Our wallet cards are made of durable plastic, and take approximately two weeks to be processed and shipped to the student. The DOL/OSHA 30 wallet cards for this class are accepted in all 50 states, DC, and the US territories.
